Spring Break means a week away from school and hopefully work and other commitments. After all, it should be a time where your family can connect and make a few memories together. If you have been longing to escape the hustle and bustle of life, choose 2025 as the year where you will take a vacation during Spring Break. There are quite a few autism friendly destinations to choose from for your time away from home. Today, I am sharing the best autism friendly Spring Break destinations for 2025. However, we can always chat to find another autism friendly destination for your Spring Break vacation if none of these pique your interest!
Best Autism Friendly Spring Break Destinations 2025
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Let’s start with an autism friendly Spring Break destination that may be close to your home. Myrtle Beach is one of my favorite Spring Break destinations for 2025, because the city has gone through the certification process to be considered an autism friendly destination. This means most of the businesses in Myrtle Beach have worked hard to ensure they have inclusive amenities in place.
You will discover that there are so many things you can do during a vacation in Myrtle Beach. When you are not at the beach, you may find that your family is exploring Ripley’s Aquarium, having fun at Broadway at the Beach, or attending one of the numerous festivals this area is known for.
Hilton Head, North Carolina
If you are not thrilled with the possibility of being around quite a few people in Myrtle Beach, you may want to head north to Hilton Head, North Carolina. I recommend staying at Disney’s Hilton Head Resort for the best autism friendly experience.
Adults can play a round or two of golf, while the kids will prefer visiting The Sandbox Children’s Museum or swimming at the beach. The entire family will love shopping and checking out the Harbour Town Lighthouse. If you have a history lover, I can arrange for you to take a historical tour or two during your Spring Break vacation.
Winter Haven, Florida
You don’t need to spend time in Orlando to experience one of the best theme parks in Florida. My two autistic boys love visiting LEGOLAND in Winter Haven. We always stay onsite at the LEGOLAND Hotel, so we can head back to our room when my boys need a little downtime.
Your entire family will love searching the resort to find the code to unlock the treasure chest in your room. The code changes each day, as do the items inside, so the kids will always have something to look forward to.
Of course, the rides at LEGOLAND will be a hit with everyone. And when you are tired of the rides, you can all build a LEGO creation.
Hawaii
Are you ready to escape the mainland and finally experience the Hawaiian vacation you have been dreaming about? All the Hawaiian Islands are considered the best autism friendly Spring Break destinations.
You can choose to spend your time on one island or island hop during your vacation. I can help you choose which Hawaiian Island is best for your family. To help get you started, remember that Oahu has a big-city vibe, while Oahu is a little more laidback as a tropical paradise. Over on the Big Island, you will discover Volcanoes National Park, which is perfect if you have a volcano lover in the family!
Beaches Resorts
All-inclusive resorts are perfect for autistic families, because most of the activities and restaurants are close together. Beaches Turks and Caicos is one of my favorites. However, almost all the Beaches Resorts destinations will be amazing for your Spring Break vacation.
You will love the downtime you get while the kids are at the Certified Kids Camp. Use this time to enjoy a romantic meal, head out on a short excursion, or simply relax at the beach or the pool. There are many autism friendly activities you can all enjoy together as a family at Beaches Resorts.
Tokyo, Japan
Flying halfway around the world to reach an amazing Spring Break destination is not unreasonable if your autistic child has been traveling for a while. You will discover there are quite a few things to do during a Spring Break vacation in Tokyo.
Tokyo Disneyland is always at the top of the list. Just be prepared when you arrive at this theme park, because things are a little different here. First, everyone runs as soon as the park opens. Therefore, I recommend taking advantage of early park entry.
During the days when you are not at Tokyo Disneyland, you can explore the city, take a cooking class, or visit one of the nearby temples.
Cancun
Mayan ruins, nearby islands, Ventura Park, and soft sandy beaches are all waiting for you in this autism friendly Spring Break destination. You really can’t go wrong with a vacation in Cancun at any time of the year. So, don’t be bummed if you can’t make it happen during Spring Break.
It isn’t too difficult to plan an autism friendly trip to Cancun. Although, it is much easier when you work with a Certified Autism Travel Professional like myself. I can create an itinerary that will ensure your autistic child does not become overstimulated due to a packed schedule. I leave plenty of time for breaks and quiet time if that is what your autistic child needs.
And yet, you won’t feel like you have missed out on anything during your time vacationing in paradise.
These are some of the best autism friendly Spring Break destinations for 2025 but there are others your family may want to visit. Let’s chat about what your family’s dream vacation looks like, so I can customize an itinerary that fits each individual’s needs. The result will be an amazing vacation filled with memories you will never forget.
